DX Club and Breakfast Club
What's the DX Club like?
Its not school!
We aim to provide a relaxing and fun environment with a chance to "chill" after school. The children (with adult help) create their own "club rules" which we expect everyone to respect.
What children want
We feel that the children need a flexible and varied programme of activities that may give them opportunities to try new experiences. Equally, we understand the need for quiet time and homework study.
Snack Zone
We provide a biscuit and drink when the children arrive. Those who stay after 4.30pm will be given a full cooked tea, which we prepare in the community kitchen. Children will be given the opportunity to help prepare and serve this if they wish.
Where is it?
The DX club is held within Duxford Primary School, using the new self-contained the community room, which is located next to the KS1 entrance, and also has its own enclosed garden.
When is it?
Sessions run Monday to Friday (term time only) from 3.20pm to either 4.30pm or 6.00 pm depending on individual requirements.
How Much?
Whole session up to 6pm - £8.50 per child
Siblings from same familiy - £8.00 each
Part session up to 4.30pm - £5.00 per child
Part session from 4.30pm to 6pm - £5.00 per child
There is an annual registration fee of £5.00 per family
How to book?
All children must be registered members of the DX Club befor they attend sessions. Registration forms are available from the DX Club and the school office. Fees are payable monthly in advance or by arrangement.
To book sessions, collect a form from the school office. Bookings must be made on the Thursday prior to the session required. We aim to always accommodate "emergency sessions" for children where parents/carers have been unexpectedly delayed.
Management and Safety
Our co-ordinator, Lyn Chaplin runs the DX Club and is assisted by Playworkers. Our ratio of adults to children never falls below 1:10 (over 8's) and 1:8 (under 8's).
A member of staff is responsible for collecting the KS1 children from a designated collection point and escorting them to the community room. KS2 children make their own way to the community room for DX Club registration. A first aider is always on duty - please refer to our Health and Safety Policy for more details.
Please inform a member of staff if anyone different will be collecting your child after sessions.
