About the school
Welcome to Duxford School. When your child starts school for the first time or joins a new school, there are always lots of questions you and your child will have about that new school. We hope this website will answer many of those questions and give you a feel for what life is like at Duxford.
We are proud to be a friendly, open school and value good communications with families very highly. Weekly newsletters called ‘Airwaves’ keep you in touch with events and are available by email and online. This our own website, www.duxford.cambs.sch.uk is updated regularly and is another useful source of information for our current parents. In addition, parents and carers are very welcome to come in and talk to the teaching staff or to myself about any concerns you may have at any time during your child’s years at Duxford.
Last year we achieved some accreditations we are really proud of. We have been awarded Quality Assurance from the Effective Early Learning Programme, a national accreditation which reflects the hard work and dedication of our Foundation Stage staff. Our school is recognised as a Centre of Good Practice in the management and development of support staff.

In December 2006, we achieved national accreditation for this and congratulations go to our Healthy Schools committee for their hard work.
